Our grant of $25,618.00 outfits a new mobile vision clinic with all equipment necessary in order to increase the number of children served. Vision to Learn's mobile vision clinics provide free eye exams and glasses to low income children in Los Angeles eliminating academic hurdles due to poor vision. Approximately 4,000 children a year will receive free eye exams and glasses on-site at schools and summer program sites. Bringing the clinic to schools and fitting many students simultaneously with glasses reduces the stigma kids may feel wearing glasses and improves their math and reading scores, classroom behavior, self-esteem, focus and quality of life.
