Jovenes
Our grant of $22,642.00 refurbishes the Jovenes computer lab and transforms their multi-purpose intake, meeting and computer room into one that is warm, empowering and comfortable. Jovenes helps youth end the cycle of homelessness with emergency shelter, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing in addition to healthcare, education, employment and trauma recovery so youth become active integrated members of our community. Approximately 120 youth will utilize the new space and technology to search for jobs, create resumes, do schoolwork, participate in employment readiness workshops, and life-skills workshops including cooking, financial literacy and independent living as well as domestic violence groups. The goal is to enhance the current space to provide a welcoming space so youth are instilled with hope and want to get the services they need, so they can move from emergency to transitional and ultimately to permanent housing, education and employment.
